Invitation to Penzer Action Park Grand Opening Celebration

Langley City, BC – The entire community is invited to celebrate the grand opening of Penzer Action Park on Thursday, June 29 from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm in the community park, located at 198 C Street, Langley, south of 48 Avenue.

A live DJ, food trucks, instructional demos, drop-in basketball, and hockey are all part of the festivities scheduled to officially open Penzer Action Park.  

The $1.3M Penzer Action Park project, with $500,000 contribution from the Government of Canada’s 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150), includes  new children’s natural adventure playground, a multi-use sports court, a custom concrete pump track and parkour course.  This project boast the largest parkour course in Canada! It features one-of-a-kind elements such as an structure obstacle course; six different challenge lines to show easy, medium, and hard tracks for users to follow, graphical tutorial signs for fundamental parkour movements, and QR codes on each sign link to corresponding tutorial videos that visitors can watch on their phones.

“I wanted to be sure that the park is approachable and fun even for people who have never done parkour before,” says Colin MacDonald, Parkour Designer from PFV Designs, “I'm delighted to see the City of Langley taking a leadership role in making this amazing sport accessible to more people.” 

“Penzer Action Park is an exciting regional attraction distinguished by its form, material, and approachability with all age groups in mind,” said Mayor Ted Schaffer. “We are excited to have a new destination park in Langley City and the region.”
