The City’s contractor Lafarge Canada Inc. will be starting construction of the 48 Avenue Road Improvement Project
on Monday April 3, 2017. The project involves widening 48 Avenue on the north side from 200 Street to 201 Street
to allow for sidewalks and bike lanes as well as rebuilding the road with new gravels and asphalt. The project is expected to be completed within two months subject to weather delays.

There will be traffic delays due to the construction activity and sections of single lane traffic will be required with detours. Temporary parking restrictions may be required for
portions of the work. The Pleasantdale Creek culvert just west of 202 St. will be replaced in July/August (timing due to fishery requirements). This will require the road to be closed at that location for 2-3 weeks. Another notice will be issued with further details on that project prior to work beginning.
Thank you for your patience with these final phases of the road and utility improvement project. If you have any questions, please contact the undersigned at 604-514-2827 or kford@langleycity.ca.
