Metro Vancouver is reviewing and updating the Water Shortage Response Plan to clarify and potentially adjust plan objectives, the restrictions, and the rationale for moving from one stage of restrictions to another.
During the winter season, the City of Langley’s Engineering and Parks Operations Division is responsible for maintaining approximately 74 km of road and regularly monitoring city streets during the winter weather. Before the first snowflake falls the Operations Division applies salt brine, and then continues with salt, salt/sand mix, and straight sand during the snowfall events to ensure the roads, municipal properties and park facilities are safe for winter driving.
On Sunday, December 11, 2016 Langley City and Township fire departments responded to a fire in the 86-suite Paddington Station condominium building located at 5650 201A Street in the City of Langley. In all 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 50 firefighters fought the fire.
