Langley City, British Columbia - After consulting with City tourism accommodation service providers, Langley City Council concluded that it was in the best interest of the City’s tourism sector to select a new service provider.
To this end, City Council directed staff to proceed with a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select a new service provider to serve as the tourism destination marketing organization for the City and deliver its functions and services. The RFP was posted on BC Bid and Langley City Council selected the Downtown Langley Business Association (DLBA) as the service provider.
Mayor Schaffer confidently expressed that, “Langley City Council is delighted to partner with the Downtown Langley Business Association to provide tourism services on behalf of Langley City. The DLBA has been a positive force for the City and I look forward in seeing that carry over into tourism services.”
Downtown Langley Business Association Chair Carole Ward enthusiastically stated that “This is an exciting opportunity for the Downtown Langley Business Association. We expect there to be great synergy having the business sector and tourism sector work together under the same umbrella, and we are looking forward to what the future brings with this first-of-its-kind partnership.”
