WEIGHT TRAINING HELP

Need some help with your weight training program?  Whether you are new to weight training, in need of a complete routine make-over or just looking for some tips and motivation, the City of Langley Fitness Team is here to help you reach your goals. 

WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATIONS: 

Free 45 minute overview of the equipment, safety precautions and proper training techniques. Pre-registration is manditory!

Orientations are available Tuesdays 7-9pm and Saturdays 9am-12pm.

PERSONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS:  Work with a certified BCRPA personal trainer to create a tailored fitness program to meet your specific needs and goals.  Personal Training sessions are one hour each and will include a fitness assessment, detailed program design, motivational workouts and support from your trainer.  Need extra motivation and support?  Book tandem training sessions and train with a friend or spouse!  Training sessions will be scheduled according to your availability so there's no excuse.... book your trainer today!

Learn gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques while increasing your strength and flexibility.  This classic form of Yoga focuses on postures and breathing to revitalize the body both physically and mentally.  Introductory class is for beginners or anyone enjoying a slower pace.  On-going class is designed for those with previous yoga experience wanting the challenge of more advanced poses and breathing techniques.

BOOTCAMP  (18+YRS)

Get fit with an early morning workout that will get your day started with renewed energy and motivation!  Join instructor Sue Wisely for this fat burning, muscle building and fun workout using action-packed cardio pumps, upper and lower body callisthenics, basic weight training, field drills, shadow boxing, balance training and lots (and lots) of core exercies.    This intense hour will wind down with a final yoga stretch which will leave you feeling relaxed, limber and ready to enjoy the day!

Tai-Chi  (16+ YRS)

Location:  Timms Community Centre

Instructor Travis Crombie from the Fraser Valley Taijinquan Association teaches this ancient Chinese exercise which emphasizes slow, graceful movements and a tranquil state of mind.  Tai-Chi combines calm meditation, the harmonizing and healing potential of the best medicine and the subtle skills of the internal martial arts.  The goal is to relax not only your muscles and limbs, ligaments and tendons, but even the internal organs, mind and emotions.

Offered in partnership with Legacy Taekwon-Do Association, this non-competitive program teaches traditional martial art for defensive purposes only.  Instruction will centre around teaching self defense, focus, respect and discipline.

STROLLER FITNESS

Location:  Douglas Recreation Centre

Recently chosen by the Vancouver Sun as one of the top seven Westcoast workouts, Fit 4 Two Stroller Fitness is a mobile way for you to get a full body workout and still be able to attend to your baby's needs.  Each class includes intervals of power walking, funcional strength training and cardio drills followed by post natal specific core work and flexibility training.  Ideal for babies who like to be on the move and a great way to meet and socialize with other moms in your community.  This class is indoor/ outdoor so please dress for the weather!

Finally!  A baby and tot friendly class that targets the CORE.  Fit 4 Two Tummies for Mommies is a 30 minute class designed to challenge all levels and postpartum stages.  Achieve the look you want by learning to train your CORE effectively.  Get strong from the inside-out.  Not only will you look and feel better, but you'll have the strength to tackle the everyday tasks of motherhood.
