WEIGHT TRAINING HELP

Need some help with your weight training program?  Whether you are new to weight training, in need of a complete routine make-over or just looking for some tips and motivation, the City of Langley Fitness Team is here to help you reach your goals. 

WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATIONS: 

Free 45 minute overview of the equipment, safety precautions and proper training techniques. Pre-registration is manditory!

Orientations are available Tuesdays 7-9pm and Saturdays 8:30am-11:30am

PERSONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS:  Work with a certified BCRPA personal trainer to create a tailored fitness program to meet your specific needs and goals.  Personal Training sessions are one hour each and will include a fitness assessment, detailed program design, motivational workouts and support from your trainer.  Need extra motivation and support?  Book tandem training sessions and train with a friend or spouse!  Training sessions will be scheduled according to your availability so there's no excuse.... book your trainer today!

PRENATAL YOGA

Strengthen, stretch and breathe your way to a more comfortable pregnancy.  Improve your posture, balance and flexibility as your instructor leads you through a series of preganancy safe poses.  Prepare for labour by building stamina and learning to use your breath.  Benefit from relaxation exercises that will help you now and as a new mother.  This is  a great way to connect with other moms-to-be in your community.

STROLLER FITNESS 

Known as one of the top seven Westcoast workouts, Fit 4 Two Stroller Fitness is a mobile way for you to get a full body workout and spend time with your baby.  Each class includes intervals of power walking, functional strength training and cardio drills followed by post natal specific core work and flexibility training.  Ideal for babies who like to be on the move and a great way for moms to socialize.  This is an indoor/outdoor class weather permitting- please dress accordingly.

TUMMIES FOR MOMMIES

A baby and tot friendly class that targets the CORE!  This 30 minute class is designed to challenge all levels and postpartum stages.  Get strong from the inside-out.  Expect guidance, motivation and FUN as you strengthen your core, improve your posture and gain energy!

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

BOOTCAMP

Get your day started with this early morning workout designed to burn fat and build lean muscle mass.  Action-packed cardio pumps, upper and lower body calistenics, basic weight training, field drills, shadow boxing, balance training and ABS, ABS, ABS are all part of this intense hour of fitness.  This program is suitable for those with moderate to high fitness levels.

PILATES

Learn to move with ease and agility while developing muscle balance and postural awareness.  Pilates combines slow precise movements with specific breathing techniques using elements of yoga, modern dance and gymnastics.  Tone your muscles without creating bulk, improve your flexibility, balance and agility.  Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and challenge more advanced poses as they feel comfortable -beginners are welcome!

HATHA YOGA

Learn gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.  Hatha Yoga will help increase flexibility and strength, calm the nervous system and enhance the immune system.  This classic form of yoga focuses on postures and breathing to revitalize the body physically and mentally.  Introductory classes are great for beginners while intermediate classes introduce more advanced poses for those with previous yoga experience.

MARTIAL ARTS

TAI-CHI

Offered in partnership with the Fraser Valley Taijinquan Association, this ancient Chinese exercise emphasizes slow graceful movements and a tranquil state of mind and body.  it combines calm meditation, the harmonizing and healing potential of martial arts.  The goal is to relax your muscles and limbs, internal organs and mind.
