Brownfield Redevelopment Strategy
City of Langley unveiled its Brownfield Redevelopment Strategy in partnership with Colliers International at its Regular Council Meeting on December 17, 2012.
“This report –the first of its kind at the local government level in BC-builds on the Downtown Master Plan as well as the Economic Development Strategy to explore the economic realities of brownfield redevelopment in the City of Langley, and positions the city as a partner in the continued redevelopment of the community”, stated Gordon Easton, Director of Planning and Development Management, Colliers International.
Mayor Fassbender stated that ‘this Strategy supports the City of Langley’s efforts to encourage the redevelopment of underutilized commercial and industrial lands by identifying the barriers involved in their redevelopment and the range of strategies and resources available to the City to effect change on these lands. We’ve let the world know where we want to go and that we’re open for business. This initiative will serve as a catalyst for generating new investment and creating additional vitality in the City of Langley”.
