Magic of Christmas Parade - Dec 7
The first Saturday in December is the official date for the City of Langley's Annual Magic of Christmas Parade. This special event will take place through the downtown core of Langley City on Saturday, December 7th starting at 6:00pm. This is an exciting event that is geared towards bringing together families and the community at large to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.The Magic of Christmas Parade has featured over 50 entries consisting of festive floats, bands, decorated vehicles, dance troupes, equestrian groups, and community groups.

Parade Entry Guidelines
Closing Date: All applications must be recieved by Friday, November 15, 2013.
No Santa's Allowed: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the last entry in the parade, please do not include them as a part of your entry.
Age Limit: No children under the age of twelve (12) years are permitted to march alone in the parade; he/she must be accompanied by an adult.
City Bylaws: Sponsors of any entry will indemnify and save harmless the City of Langley (its Directors and Employees) and the Province of BC from all responsibility for personal injury or property damage arising from accidents incurred going to, during and dispersing from the parade.
Floats: All floats must be of proper construction to prevent any chance of breakdown during the parade and must have proper driver's vision and ventilation. Drivers must remain with their float at all times.
Staging of Entry: Entries can begin to enter the staging area at 4:30pm and must be in place and ready to go no later than 5:30pm. Parade begins at 6:00pm.
Position in the Parade:You will be assigned a parade staging area, not a position for this parade; the staging area will be assigned once you register and the details will be provided to you on your registration confirmation. Please see below in the 'Parade Entry Staging Information' section for a map and further details.
Keep the Pace: In order to ensure that the procession moves smoothly, we need your help in maintaining the pace and the space. Please keep a space of 25-50 feet between you and the entry in front and behind of you.
Promotional Material: There is no solicitation for cash or ticket sales along the parade route. No candy or promotional material can be thrown into the crowd from floats or along the parade route. If your group would like to distribute candy or promotional material it must be done person-to-person only.
Entries with Animals:You must provide a clean-up crew for your entry that will stay with you for the duration of the parade.
Parade Entry Staging Information
Once you have registered your entry for the parade you will be assigned a staging area, either 1, 2, or 3, on your confirmation form. This will be the location where you enter the staging area prior to the start of the parade.
Please note: One member of your entry must check-in at the Check-In tent (yellow star on the map) to inform the parade committee that your entry has arrived. If your entry includes mutiple people all arriving on their own to the site, please ensure they find a place to park outside of the parade staging area and then they can make their way into the staging area on foot.
